22 in. X 28 in., oil and enamel on panel. The Navaho have a story about two brothers. The father of one of the boys is the sun, and the father of the other is the moon. They set out on a journey to find the house their father, the sun (ultimately he is the father of them both), in order to save their mother from a monster that is threatening their village. Along the way different spirits both help and hinder their progress. One of the helpful spirits is a large fly that lands on the shoulder of one boy and serves as a guide.
